Real Muthaphuckkin G's-Eazy E

This is the second track of the EP It’s On (Dr. Dre) 187um Killa, an entire EP dedicated to dissing ex-N.W.A. mate Dr. Dre in response to Dre Day.

It is one of the most important diss tracks in hip-hop history. Eazy-E, flanked by Ruthless Records homies Gangsta Dresta and B. G. Knoccout, beats up on his former ally Dr. Dre and his new Death Row posse. Eazy remarks that Dr. Dre is being “treated like bootcamp” by his boss Suge Knight who memorably forced Vanilla Ice to sign a contract by hanging him out of a window. Eazy calls Snoop Doggy Dogg, who joined Dre in dissing Eazy on the track “Fuck Wit Dre Day”, an ‘anorexic rapper’ for his boney frame.

The track samples “Eazy-Duz-It” by Eazy-E and “It’s Funky Enough” by D.O.C., both produced by Dr. Dre. The line, “Dre Day only meant Eazy’s pay day”, subtly revealed to the public that Eazy had a contractual agreement with Dr. Dre from his days with Ruthless Records which forced his new label to pay Eazy a small percentage of all Dr. Dre record sales for 6 years, even the one’s that dissed him.

As if the lyrics were not enough, the crew Eazy got to appear in the video — including former NWA members MC Ren and DJ Yella — added legitimacy to Compton’s turn on Dre.
